Lloyd Gibbs is serving his second term as Councillor representing District 5.
Lloyd and his wife of 47 years, Anna, have one grown daughter, Andrea. Lloyd and his family are long time residents of Lower Harmony. He spends numerous hours socializing and advocating for persons with intellectual disabilities and has an active interest in Special Olympics.
Lloyd has a Bachelor of Science Degree, with honours, majoring in geology, from Acadia University. Now retired, in his early career, he was a small contracting business owner and went on to more recent employment in the oil and gas industry with Petro Canada Inc. as an Exploration Geologist. Lloyd served as an elected official with the Chignecto Central Regional School Board for two terms from October 1992 to 0ctober 2000.
Councillor Gibbs is a member of the Municipality's Dangerous and Unsightly Committee, Vice-Chair of Flood Advisory Committee and Chair of the Livestock Control Advisory Committee. Lloyd looks forward to continue serving the citizens of District 5.
About District 5
District 5 has a gentle blend of rural and urban landscapes. It is one of the most populous of all districts in Colchester and is one of the most diverse.
This region is one of the best examples of how industry, agriculture, residential subdivisions and environmental areas can all coincide. This district is home to Deuville's Rink, the first winner of CBC's Hockeyville Competition.
Bounded on the north by the northern community boundaries of Murray Siding and Salmon River;
Bounded on the west by the eastern boundary of the Town of Truro and District 3;
Bounded on the South by District 4;
Bounded on the east by the western community boundaries of Greenfield and Valley; and
Is comprised of the Communities of Salmon River, Murray Siding, Harmony and Camden.
