NOTICE OF APPROVAL

TAKE  NOTICE  that the Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester, at a hearing held on June 25, 2024, approved amendments to the Central Colchester Land Use By-law. The amendments are for a multi part rezoning on PID# 20031472, 602 Pictou Road, Valley.

The land use by-law amendments may be inspected at the Community Development Office, County Court House, 1 Church Street, Truro, N.S. during regular business hours and are also posted on the Municipal website at www.colchester.ca

This decision may be appealed to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board within fourteen (14) days of the date of publication of this notice.

Notice of Intent - Second Reading, Municipal Elections By-law

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester will consider Second Reading of amendments to Chapter 18, Municipal Elections By-law, at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, beginning at 6 pm.  This meeting will be held both virtually via Zoom Webinars and in-person.

The proposed amendments are intended to enable electronic voting at Municipal Elections.

Notice of Approval - Chapter 2 Neighbourhood Nuisance By-law

TAKE NOTICE that on Thursday, May 30, 2024, Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester approved, by way of Second Reading, amendments to Chapter 2, Neighbourhood Nuisance Use By-law.

The amendments to the Neighbourhood Nuisance By-law are intended to assist in addressing the timing and proximity of construction involving heavy equipment near residences.    

The By-law may be obtained from the Administration Office, 1 Church Street, Truro, or is available on the County website at www.colchester.ca/administration/by-laws.

Notice of Approval - Chapter 29 Sewer Use By-law

TAKE NOTICE that on Thursday, May 30, 2024, Council of the Municipality of the County of Colchester approved, by way of Second Reading, amendments to Chapter 29, Sewer Use By-law.

The amendments to the Sewer Use By-law removes the refundable deposit from the sewer permit fee.

The By-law may be obtained from the Public Works Office, 1 Church Street, Truro, or is available on the County website at www.colchester.ca/administration/by-laws.
