Reservable picnic areas
Nelson Memorial Park has three picnic areas available for reservation, each with a shelter and tables. Each has a view of Tatamagouche Bay.

Shelter A
- located in the centre of the park, with ocean view
- 20' x 40' open air, timber frame shelter with concrete floor
- seating under shelter for approximately 40 people
- electricity
- garbage/recycling bin
- parking for 5 cars within 25 m; additional parking within 100 m
- washrooms within 60 m
- potable water within 10 m
- playground within 50 m
- adjacent large lawn area
- beach within 300 m (Beach is unsupervised. Due to the tidal variation and shallow bay, recreational water activities are limited.)
Shelter B
- located near the shore with ocean view
- 16' x 18' open air shelter with gravel floor
- seating under shelter for approximately 10 people
- barbecue (you must bring charcoal briquettes)
- no electricity
- garbage/recycling bin
- parking for up to 3 cars within 40 m
- washrooms within 300 m
- potable water within 300 m
- playground within 300 m
- adjacent, large lawn area
- beach within 120 m (Beach is unsupervised. Due to the tidal variation and shallow bay, recreational water activities are limited.)
Shelter C
- located near the park entrance, with open and ocean view
- 16' x 18' open air shelter with gravel floor
- seating under shelter for approximately 10 people
- barbecue (you must bring charcoal briquettes)
- garbage/recycling bin
- no electricity
- parking for up to 5 cars within 120 m
- washrooms within 150 m
- potable water within 150 m
- playground within 40 m
- adjacent, large lawn area
- beach within 500 m (Beach is unsupervised. Due to the tidal variation and shallow bay, recreational water activities are limited.)
Facilities are available free-of-charge.
The following are prohibited
- alcohol
- stapled decorations, balloons or piñatas
- amplified music or public address systems
- amusement equipment (e.g., bouncy-house)
Set-up and clean-up
- Users are responsible for all set-up and clean-up.
- Time for set-up and clean-up must be included in the reservation time.
- Set-up includes unloading of any food, supplies, extra tables, chairs, etc.
- Clean-up consists of picking up all litter and removing all decorations, equipment and supplies. Please leave the area clean for the next visitors.
