For safety reasons, clean ups along 100-series Highways, ON and EXIT ramps are NOT permitted through the Colchester Clean Program.

How do I register a clean up?

How do I dispose of the garbage I've collected?

There are a number of ways residents can dispose of collected Colchester Clean material.

1. Bags of litter that have been collected during the program can be divided amongst the group and added to your regular bi-weekly garbage collection. Colchester Clean Rudy the Raccoon stickers can be placed on your garbage bags if plan to put your collected materials curbside for collection (with the rudy stickers you won't be deemed over the limit). Colchester Clean Rudy the Raccoon stickers can be found in your litter kits.

2. Each registered volunteer will receive a Gold Card in their Litter Kit. The Colchester Clean Gold Pass allow residents to take garbage and recycling bags to the Balefill Facility at 188 Mingo Rd in Kemptown free from tipping fees.

3. Bins will be placed at specific locations. Information and bin locations will be provided in your litter kits.

Do we have to separate recyclables from regular garbage during our clean up?

Yes. Blue bags are provided for clean beverage containers to participants. You can place curbside or take to your nearest depot for a refund. Dirty recycling can be placed in the clear bag for garbage.

Where can I get bags and gloves for Colchester Clean?

Once your email notficication arrives stating that your kit is ready to be collected. All registrants can pick up bags and gloves at the Municipality of Colchester main building located at 1 Church Street in Truro OR the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at 185 Mingo Road in Kemptown. . Hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM. Registrants can also choose to have bags and gloves delivered to their door by selecting this option on the sign up form.
