How do I register a clean up?
Click ‘Register Now!’ or call 902-895-4777.
How do I dispose of the garbage I've collected?
Dumpsters will be placed in districts across Colchester County on Date, for the community clean up. Bags of litter that have been collected during April 22nd to May 7th can be divided amongst the group and added to your regular bi-weekly garbage collection. If you have collected a large amount and need assistance, please call our helpline 902-895-4777 and we can make the necessary arrangements.
Do we have to separate recyclables from regular garbage during our clean up?
Yes. Blue bags are provided for clean beverage containers to participants. You can place curbside or take to your nearest depot for a refund. Dirty recycling can be placed in the clear bag for garbage.
Where can I get bags and gloves for Colchester Clean?
All registrants can pick up bags and gloves at the Municipality of Colchester main building located at 1 Church Street in Truro OR the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at 185 Mingo Road in Kemptown. Please call 902-895-4777 in advance and wear a mask when you pick up your supplies. Hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM. Registrants can also choose to have bags and gloves delivered to their door by selecting this option on the sign up form.
Can I do litter clean up at a different time of year?
Yes! Visit NS Pick Me Up to register a clean-up outside of the Colchester Clean program.
